The High School of Saint Thomas More

exists to assist parents in forming students spiritually, morally, intellectually and physically

in a Christ centered atmosphere of love,

respect and reverence consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church,

sending them forth to fulfill their baptismal call

as His disciples in the world.

The High School of St. Thomas More's newest school year is off and running. We welcome many new Freshmen, upperclassmen students, and even staff who will add great excitement, talents, skills, abilities, and great love to our STM Family. Fr. Hoelscher reminded us in our first All School Mass of the great things the Lord has in store for the high school this year, but it is up to us to be on the lookout and ready for the way the Lord will be working in our high school. It is the mission of STM to form students as disciples of Christ as a Catholic High School in many ways - spiritually, intellectually, morally, and physically. All of our leaders at the High School are dedicated to pursue this mission in forming our students in many different ways in leading them on the path of pursuing greatness through the true, good, and beautiful that a Catholic Education has to offer. In an address to Italian teachers, parents, and educators, Pope Francis outlined the goal and mission of our Catholic Schools when he says: "The mission of schools is to develop a sense of truth, of what is good and beautiful. And this occurs through a rich path made up of many ingredients. This is why there are so many subjects — because development is the results of different elements that act together and stimulate intelligence, knowledge, the emotions, the body, and so on....“If something is true, it is good and beautiful; if it is beautiful; it is good and true; if it is good, it is true and it is beautiful. And together, these elements enable us to grow and help us to love life, even when we are not well, even in the midst of many problems. True education enables us to love life and opens us to the fullness of life.” Let us live out this mission this year at the High School of St. Thomas More to #LiveMORE and to now #ShineMore so that the fullness and love of life may shine out to the rest of our world in building up the Kingdom of God!
