Retreats

LOGOS

Each class gets a day away to deepen their faith through the class retreats. These happen during the school day and allow the students opportunities to hear from Fr. O'Brien and their teachers, college students, and FOCUS Leaders, as well as share their own faith experiences with each other.

In addition, the Juniors and Seniors are invited to attend an overnight retreat called LOGOS.

What is LOGOS?
LOGOS is Greek for WORD.

It is a unique retreat that encourages the participants to deepen their relationship with God (the Word-Made-Flesh) while simultaneously connecting with their peers and forming life-long friendships. The element of surprise during the entire retreat plays an important role in keeping the participants engaged and excited. This retreat is different from other retreats because it shows the connection between God, family, and friends. The large groups highlight life themes and the small groups amplify the connections that the participants have with each other, but often times don't notice. The LOGOS retreat is extremely beneficial because the participants are graduating in the next year, giving the participant even more reason to grow stronger in his/her faith and family life!

FROM THE STUDENTS...

"My relationship with God has completely changed because of LOGOS, and I can not wait to share that with others. The way I felt His love for me is something I will never forget. Going on LOGOS was the best decision I have ever made."

"This retreat helped me to realize a lot about myself. It also helped me to realize that EVERYONE has a story, whether you think so or not. You never know the things that are going on in someone else's life, even your best friends. LOGOS felt like a family to me, and it was a life changing experience. There was so much love experienced on this retreat, and I know that God was telling me he loved me through everything that I experienced. LOGOS is something that I will never forget for as long as I live."

Trips

March for Life

Each year, we travel to stand up for Life. With the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022, we have shifted our focus from Washington, D.C. to Springfield, Illinois. Our state is one of the most progressive with abortion laws, so it is important for us to make our voices heard at the state-level. This is a day-long trip open to all students.

Steubenville Conference

Students looking to deepen their faith life should consider joining us for the Steubenville Conference held in Springfield, Missouri on July 7-9. This is an opportunity to hear from national speakers, gather with 3,000+ other teens from around the country, and experience a weekend like they've never experienced. Interested? Contact Fr. O'Brien.
