Colleges and universities make visits to our school to reach out to our students. It is a great way to learn more about a specific college/university and also to begin building a relationship with the admissions representative. The admissions representative that visits our school will be the person who reads applications for our school. These visits are always FREE and open to any interested student. If a college/university visits during the lunch hour, they will be at a table immediately outside of our cafetorium. If they visit during the regular school day, students must sign-up to visit with the rep at least one day prior to the visit. Students are required to make up any work that they will miss according to teacher’s guidelines. Some of the colleges/univerisities us in the near future include: Drake University, Saint Louis University, Washington University, University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign and many others.
The Illinois College Exhibition (ICE Fair) will be in the Parkland College Gym on Wednesday, September 15th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. There is no admission charge. Many colleges/univerisities will be represented. This is a great way to begin exploring colleges/universities. OPEN TO ALL AGE GROUPS.

Failure to pre-arrange the absence will result in an unexcused absence(s). Prearranged absences are not allowed during semester exams. Arrangements must be made with the attendance office and a pre-arranged form must be completed. The students have the responsibility for securing each teacher’s signature and completing all class work as the teacher requires. This could be before the absence.
