Senior College Planning Meetings

There are many college application procedural details that Mrs. Bedwell needs to cover with all of our seniors.  For that reason, College Application 101 will be offered on Tuesday, August 31st at 6:30 p.m. in the cafetorium.  It is highly recommended that every senior and a parent/guardian be present for this brief meeting.  It will not last more than one hour.  If you are participating in an athletic event that evening, please ask one of your parents or a guardian to attend in your place.

ONLINE COURSE REGISTRATION

ONLINE COURSE REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN MONDAY, MARCH 8TH! We ask that all students come to school next week with a listing of the courses they wish to take.  As this is the first time we attempt this with our new system, RenWeb, we would like to walk each student through the process.  Having students here at school to input their choices will allow us to resolve any issues immediately.  Many of our courses have prerequisites that must be met in order to register.  Please have your student bring two documents with them to facilitate online registration:  1. The document entitled “Course Description” and 2. Grade History. Click here, or go to About STM | Online Course Registration, to view more information about Course Registration and download the “Course Desciptions” document.

Students will be called to the Library in small groups, where laptops will be arranged for them to register.  Juniors will be called on Monday, sophomores on Tuesday and freshmen on Wednesday.  Mrs. Bedwell and Mr. Glenn will be in the Library to assist.  Course registration will close on Friday, March 12th.

College Day Information

Each student is allowed TWO College Days during their Junior and Senior years.  To be excused from class for a College Day, the student must follow these procedures:
1.  Pick up a College Day Form on the black rack outside the main office.
2.  The form must be signed by the parents/guardians.
3.  The name and address of the college(s) must be completed.
4.  This form must be returned to Mrs. Martin, the Attendance Secretary, one week before the scheduled visit.
5.  The student is responsible for all work missed in class.

The student should let their teachers know in advance about the College Day.  The teacher has the option of having work turned in before the College Day or on the day the student returns. The student should not plan a trip on a day that a test is to be given.  If a test is given on the College Day, the student will be expected to make up the test on the day they return.
