The consideration of applications for National Honor Society is a large undertaking that is now nearing a close. All parents of those students who have applied will receive notification of selection or non-selection the week of November 14th. This way students who have been selected for membership will be able to make arrangements for their families to attend the induction mass on November 23.

- Seminarian Fundraiser Dinner at the Spalding Pastoral Center

The parents of priests and seminarians of the Diocese of Peoria will host a Seminarian Fundraiser on Saturday, August 13th, at the Spalding Pastoral Center in Peoria. Doors open at 5:30 with dinner at 6:30. There will be dinner, entertainment, raffles and a silent auction. Money raised goes to help defray the education costs to the families in our diocese who currently have seminarians enrolled at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona, Minnesota. This includes Clint Coulter, STM graduate Class of 10; he is currently enrolled at this seminary, along with other young men from our diocese; including Mike Pica, graduate of Holy Cross School. Tickets for the event are available through St. Thomas Church/Philo (684-5107). If you are unable to attend, you can still send a monetary donation for the seminarians to: POPS Seminarian Fundraiser, St. Thomas Church, 310 E. Madison, Philo, IL 61864. Checks made payable to Catholic Diocese of Peoria.

Please join us in the Chapel at 8:00 a.m. to pray for the needs of our students, familes and school.
Fr. Lampitt will give a short reflection on a particular virtue for the month. Refreshments are served

- Senior Ads for the Yearbook Now Available.

Senior ads for the yearbook (the family ads in the back of the book) are now available. These ads are in full color and often include pictures and congratulation for the graduates. The cost is $30 for a 1/4 page (4 1/2 x 5 /2 in.) or $60 for a 1/2 page ad (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 in.). Ads can be submitted electronically on cd or e-mail to mtimmermann@hs-stm.org or by dropping off the ad and check in the office for Mrs. Timmermann. If you are not comfortable putting the ad together but have photos you would like to use for one, the yearbook staff can compose the ad for you, just get us the pictures in either electronic or hard copy along with your message to your senior. Ads and payment are due by March 31st.

To thank the Assembly Hall for all it does for STM and to wish everyone who works at the Assembly Hall a MERRY CHRISTMAS, STM delivers to a tub, yes a tub, of Christmas cookies and candy to them. This tradition was started eight years ago and is greatly appreciated. Please help us continue this by bringing one or two dozen cookies to Mrs. Oliveira on December 9th or 10th. If your last name starts with the letter S, please bring a bag of Christmas candy. The tub of goodies will be delivered to the Assembly Hall on December 11th.

On behalf of the Parent of Priests and Seminarians (P.O.P.S.) of the Peoria Diocese, I would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to everyone for their support in making the fund-raiser at Holy Cross Parish Center on October 16th a success. Over $16,000 has been raised in support of the 11 young men from the Peoria Diocese that are enrolled at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona, MN. - STM (ABO) Athletic Booster Organization Fall Kick Off

Fall Kick Off fun begins at 5:30pm on Friday, August 20th at STM. The ABO invites all STM families, friends, and students to meet the fall athletic teams, buy your STM Saberwear, and visit with old and new friends. Team introductions will be promptly at 6:00pm on the football field. Scrimmages for boys soccer, girls volleyball and varsity football will follow. The STM band will play and the cheerleaders will cheer. A special welcome is extended to all new STM families for this first pep rally of the year.
