Summer Service Hour Ideas

Ideas for Summer Service

Again, there is no such thing as “pre-approved” service hours.

EVERY project needs to have a proposal submitted which explains how the project relates to a corporal or spiritual work of mercy (see p. 2: tinyurl.com/lf-guidelines).

And the project cannot begin until the student, parent/guardian, project supervisor, and chaplain have signed this form (not necessarily in that order. . . . i.e., you can obtain my signature before the project supervisor’s.)

Ideas successfully completed in the past include (but are not limited to):

Challenger baseball league
Southside sandlot baseball
St. Matthew garage sale
STM garage sale
Daily Bread Soup Kitchen
Champaign Humane Society
St. Matt Angel Camp
FCA Camp (as a “counselor,” not a participant)
mission trips (e.g, Catholic Heart Work Camp)
helping to coach sports
STM sport camps (football, basketball, etc.)
Church Vacation Bible Schools
STM Painting Saints with Mrs. Stewart
