The High of St. Thomas More finished 3rd in the ICTM State Math Contest on Saturday, May 1st, 2010 held at the University of Illinois Campus in Urbana-Champaign. The STM Math team was amazing and has now entered the upper echelon of state math teams in the state of Illinois along with Corner Stone and Johnston City.
An outstanding achievement!!!!
We had had our first state champions in Sujin Lim and Seung Jun Lee in the F/S 2-Person Team!
Here is how our amazing teams did :
Algebra I: The outstanding Sean Kelly finished 9th and the Algebra I team finished 8th and includes Sean Kelly, Jiwon Yoon, Wiley Jones, Gen Harrington, Sidra Salman, and Katie Hausladen!!!
Geometry: The always fantastic Sujim Lin finished 8th and the Geometry team finished 6th!! WOW!!!! Team members are Sujin Lim, Seung Jun Lee, Christina, Joe, Yoon Dong Shin (Zach) and Bill Holt!!!
Algebra II: The most amazing Hak Soo Lee finished 4th and the remarkable Jaymo Kim finished 8th!! The Algebra II team, which words cannot describe, finished 3rd! Did you hear that STM? 3rd!!!!! Team members are Jaymo, Hak Soo, Ben Dodds, Thanasis Sofronis, Katie McGrew and Min Kyoung Park!!!
Pre-Calculus: The always persevering Pre-Calculus Team finished 11th in the State??? Without one of our top Pre-Calculus People! This team included: Jong Doo Lee, Brooke Happ, Clint Coulter, Jackson Hayes, Daniel Cho and Tyler Faught!!!
F/S 8-Person Team: Had an outstanding performance but had technical difficulties that left them out. Team members are: Jiwon Yoon, Wiley Jones, Gen Harringon, Katie Hausladen, Sujim, Lin, Seung Jun Lee, Christina Kohlmann and Zach (Yoon Dong
Shin).
J/s 8-Person Team: This Amazing team finished 3rd in the state!!!!!! WOW!!! Team members include: Jaymo, Hak Soo, Ben Dodds, Thanasis Sofronis, Jong Doo Lee, Brooke Happ, Daniel Cho, Jackson Hayes.
Calculator Team: This unbelievable team calculated themselves to an extremely impressive 4th place finish!!! Team members are: The amazing Clint Coulter, Tyler Faught, Jake Kluth, Sean Kelly and Joe Debrock!
F/S 2-Person Team: watch out! Here they come???Sujin Lim and Seung Jun Lee the first math state champions at STM!!!!!!! May I have you autograph please????
J/S 2-Person Team: The ultimate fantastic team of Hak Soo Lee and Jaymo Kim finished 4th!!!
Orals: This was the highest finish for an STM oral team in history??? The one, the only Dong Woo Yun and Jake Kluth fnished 3rd in orals???a remarkably fantastic out of this world finish!!!!
F/S Relay Team #2: finished 7th with team members Jiwon Yoon, Gen Harrington, Joe Debrock and Bill Holt. Team #1 Members were: Sean Kelly, Wiley Jones, Christian Kohlmann and Yoon
