On March 20th two STM art students received awards at The Eric Show, a local art show honoring a high school art student who was killed by a drunk driver. Artwork by Ashley Nussel, Clara Holt, Dayea Kim, Gina Hinders, Justing Telthorst, Katie DeBrock, Megan Oliviera, Ryan Schwartz, Trevor Schmutz and Dom Muscatella was exhibited at the Indigo Gallery in downtown Champaign from March 9 to the 20th. A reception for the students was given at the gallery on Sunday the 20th. Justin Telthorst received an Honorable Mention and $25 cash and Dayea Kim won Third Place and a $75 cash award. Additionally, Dayea was even commissioned to make a drawing by the owner of the gallery! The show allowed the students to exhibit their work in a professional setting and was a great success.
