Anthony Santarelli

Graduating in 2006, STM Alumnus Anthony Santarelli enrolled in the College of ACES at the University of Illinois. His entrepreneurial spirit, passion for the environment, and compelling endeavor to help care for the world we live in has resulted in an extremely successful and busy college senior. Taking “going green” by storm, Anthony, along with two U of I graduates, founded the Illinois Green Business Association (IGBA), a not-for-profit company established to assist local businesses in becoming more environmentally friendly or ‘green’ as we commonly refer to it. The mission of IGBA is to achieve a healthier and cleaner environment by helping businesses integrate environmental responsibility into daily operations in a sustainable and profitable manner. Anthony’s non-profit organization officially launched its pilot program in July of 2009 with 15 businesses in Champaign, Urbana, and Savoy including Body n Sole, Art Mart, Boltini, and others currently working through the certification process. Anthony sees Champaign-Urbana through a green lens and is fervent about educating the rest of us. He is currently developing seminars and instructional materials he hopes will be utilized in classes at the University of Illinois.
