When do you begin accepting applications and what is the deadline?

STM will begin to accept applications for incoming freshmen and transfer students on Monday, November 14, 2011.  The deadline for applications is Friday, February 17, 2012.  Applications will not be considered complete without the submission of ALL requested documentation.

Is the $255 application/enrollment fee refundable?

Yes and no.  The $55 is an application fee and is non-refundable.  Upon acceptance by the Admissions Committee, the enrollment fee is credited to the payment of tuition. If your student is placed on a wait list or is not admitted to STM, the enrollment fee of $200 will be refunded.  However, the enrollment fee is not refunded if your student is accepted and you choose to decline acceptance. A $25 late fee is assessed if application is received after the deadline date of February 17, 2012, and this fee is non-refundable.

When will we know if our student has been admitted?

The Admissions Committee is scheduled to meet shortly after the application deadline.  Therefore, letters of admittance will follow in early March.

How much is tuition?

Tuition for 2012-2013 is currently being reviewed by the Board.  Subsidized tuition and fees for Catholic students for 2011-2012 is $6,910.  There is a 3% sibling discount and a 2.5% discount for tuition paid in full before June 29th. The non-Catholic tuition is currently $10,389.  International student tuition is $11,592.

What additional fees are assessed?

At registration on August 7, 2012, Parent’s Association dues and an athletic participation fee (if applicable) will be payable. 

What is the procedure to apply for tuition assistance?

Tuition assistance is currently available to Catholic students.  The assistance is granted by the parish which the student attends.  If you are interested in applying for tuition assistance, contact the STM Business Office at 217.352.7210 to request a tuition assistance packet.  These packets will be available after November 1, 2011.

Are scholarships available?

No, STM does not provide scholarships.

What if I still have questions about academics and/or athletics?

Mark your calendar now for Preview Night II on Wednesday, January 25th which will focus on STM???s complete academic program as well as the athletic program.  Coaches and student athletes will be available to answer your questions.

What is the EXPLORE Test and when is it administered?

This examination is a placement test and a mandatory part of the admissions process.  The results of this examination are solely for the purpose of ensuring the applicant, if admitted, will be placed in the appropriate course selection.  The EXPLORE test is scheduled for March 10, 2012.  The test begins promptly at 8:00am, lasting approximately 3 hours (3 1/2 hours if the student is taking the Spanish assessment).  Reservations must be made in advance. If no application for admission has been submitted at the time the test reservation is made, a $25 testing fee is required*. (the $25 testing fee is included in the $255 application/enrollment fee and no further payment is necessary).

How can tuition be paid?

Tuition can be paid in one of three ways:
1. Full Tuition Payment, due June 29th.  This option entitles you to a 2.5% discount on the amount of tuition.  The payment is to be sent directly to STM and must be received by June 29th (discount will not apply after due date).
2. Semi-Annual Payments (2 payments), due in July and January.  Family must enroll in the FACTS program and make payments electronically.  An annual fee to FACTS will apply.
3. Monthly Payments (3-11 payments), beginning in July.  Family must enroll in the FACTS program and make payments electronically. An annual fee to FACTS will apply.
