The Office of Institutional Advancement oversees the fundraising that is essential for The High School of Saint Thomas More to continue to provide Full Catholic Formation to a diverse student body.
During these recent first years of our existence, parents and friends of our school have responded generously to the various fundraising programs at Saint Thomas More. Our fundraising is especially important because the high school is a private institution and does not receive general public funding or archdiocesan subsidies. Tuition alone does not cover the cost of operating The High School of Saint Thomas More each year. Fundraising is crucial to support educational program costs, expanding curriculum, technology, campus maintenance, professional development for faculty and staff, faculty salaries, extra-curricular activities, a fine arts program and in general, the main elements needed to fulfill our Mission.
This year, contributions outside of tuition will account for nearly 20% of the operational budget. That does not include contributions towards the Endowment or tuition assistance funds. And it includes virtually zero contributions from alumni – a funding source that every other private high school benefits from.
Saint Thomas More faces many challenges in maintaining a healthy financial outlook. But the good people of the Champaign-Urbana community have seen the value of having a Catholic secondary school. Our school is built; we are graduating fine young men and women, fully formed in mind, body and spirit. With your continued help and belief, we will achieve our greatest goals and Mission.
