Important Announcement

March for Life

Each January, STM students and parents make a pilgrimage to Washington, D.C. for the annual March for Life on January 22nd.

For the 2010 March, the group (limited to 50 people) will leave from STM on Thursday morning, January 21st, and arrive back to STM on the morning of Sunday, January 24th.  We will stay two nights at the Liaison Capital Hotel.  The cost for double occupancy will be $475 per person [i.e., for chaperones] and $435 per person for quadruple occupancy [i.e., for students].  The cost includes all taxes, transportation, some bus snacks, but no complete meals.  Those interested are asked to plan for an additional expense of $75 for food and souvenirs.  In addition, those for whom the cost of the trip would be a financial hardship are encouraged to contact to see if other arrangements can be made.  Space is limited to 40 students.

Interested students (and chaperones) should submit an application (see the upper right-hand corner) to Fr. Lampitt.  Later, a permission slip and payment form will be given to those who have been invited to attend the March (a $150 deposit will then be requested by November 20th; full payment will be expected by December 18th).

Once a student (or chaperone) has been invited to attend, he or she is encouraged to contact Mrs. Oliveira for information on how to earn money at the Assembly Hall to help defray the costs of this trip.  And finally, students may earn up to six hours of service for participating in the Friday march.

Among other things, our pilgrimage will include:

  • Pariticipation in a youth rally and Mass at the Verizon Center
  • The March for Life rally and march
  • A guided tour of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception
  • Mass at the National Shrine
  • A visit to the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land

Stay tuned for more details on this exciting pilgrimage!
