The boys played well last night and took home 2nd place in the Champaign County Tournament held at Brookhill GC in Rantoul. We shot a 309 and were edged out by Champaign Centennial by 4 shots for the title. We broke through our mental 320 barrier as a team and showed that we CAN play at a very high level. Congratulations to Josh Kulas (tie 2nd - 73) and Matthew Tate (tie 5th - 76) on making the all Champaign County team for 2011! Very nice!

We were led by Aaron Pinkerton’s 36 & Christopher Tate’s 38. We played a tough track at Stone Creek last night. The wind was howling and the scores were higher than the previous week when the varsity shot back to back 1-under 143’s. Bismark-Henning has a very good team and we defeated them 155 to 159.
The JV’s played a match simultaneously and they also won 194-204. Jesse Dankle led the way with a 45. Kirby Bolger and Logan Wright added a pair of 48’s.
This was the first time the wind was such a huge factor this year, but I’m sure it won’t be the last. We showed great patience under the conditions.
